In the Footsteps of the Bible – Exploring the Land of Benjamin
Hurvat Alamit – A moderate climb for a beautiful view of the land of Benjamin. The view includes Jerusalem to the west, the town Annata (which bears the name of the hometown of Jeremiah the prophet) to the south, and an inspiring look into the pure desert to the east-the desert to which Jeremiah longed to go and leave his sinful society (Jeremiah 9:1).
Geva Binyamin – Adam – A look at "Kuber B'nei Yisrael", the mysterious structures which have been identified by some scholars as Rachel's tomb. Here too the battle of Jonathen and the Philistines can be best appreciated from the magnificent view of the Michmas riverbed and the Sene Botzetz cliffs.
Bet-El – From the Mount Artis Observation Tower in Bet-El, we can enjoy one of the best views in Israel. Here we can see not only the site of ancient Bet -El, but also the Biblical Land of Benjamin in its entirety from its southern border (Jerusalem) to its northern border (Mount Baal Hazor). In addition, on a clear day, one may see deep into Samaria to the north, west to the coastal area, and east to the hills of Transjordan. Chapters in the Bible describing the visit of Abraham and Jacob in the vicinity of Bet-El can therefore be best appreciated here. A short walk to the traditional site of the "sheikh Abdulla tomb" will bring us to the place which is believed by some scholars to be the site of Jacob's dream. We will also visit the large modern town of Bet-El.
